Dr. Harriman received her medical degree in June 1984 from the University of Ibadan’s College of Medicine. She commenced her training in ophthalmology in 1986 and attended courses at Stanford University in California, Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in London and the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin.
She obtained the Diploma in Ophthalmology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1989 and The Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the UK in 1990. She continued her studies in ophthalmology by attending courses in many different countries, such as Italy, Belgium, Germany as well as Massachusetts’s Eye and Ear Infirmary in the United States.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists since 1999 and in the same year began her sub-specialization in glaucoma. She’s a fellow of the James Standefer Glaucoma Institute and Eye Foundation Hospital of Ikeja, is an active member of the International Glaucoma Association, Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria and the American Association for Physician Leadership. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Roehampton in the UK.
She attends both international and local conferences on the subjects of ophthalmology and glaucoma and Health management.
She enjoys swimming, reading and playing the guitar and is married with two children.
